300MB of Virgin Mobile Broadband for only $1

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Want to get some wireless data really cheap? Head down to your local Dick Smith’s store and buy one of their Virgin Mobile Twin SIM Starter Kits for $2.

When you get it home, log on to Virgin Mobile’s web site and activate it as a prepaid wireless broadband service instead of a standard prepaid mobile.

They’ll give you 300MB of data to get you started, and then you can either throw the SIM card in the bin and activate a new one, or recharge it using their standard Wireless Broadband vouchers.

$1 for 300MB of data is very cheap for mobile broadband. Enjoy!

To connect to their network, the APN name is VirginBroadband. You may need this if you’re not using one of the Virgin Broadband modems, or if you’re using your mobile as the modem.
